My Story

Letting someone into your home to work on your electrics takes trust. Most homeowners have heard stories of trades who turn up late, leave a mess, rush the job or disappear when something goes wrong. That uncertainty is often the hardest part, not the work itself.

I started out as an electrician back in 1998, training with my family and working on commercial installs before spending years on new build housing sites. Over time, I went self-employed and built a reputation for reliable, careful work in people’s homes. When I moved to Derby seven years ago, I had to start again from scratch, earning trust one job at a time. That experience reinforced how important it is for customers to feel listened to, respected and confident from the very first conversation.

For the past 15 years, my focus has been domestic electrical work. I know how disruptive it can feel having work done while you are living at home, so I approach every job with the same mindset. Turn up when agreed. Explain what is happening. Do the work properly. Leave the house clean and safe. My aim is simple. You should feel comfortable before, during and after the work is finished.

What I Do

Most customers come to me because something is not quite right. Their electrics feel outdated, they are worried about safety, or they want to make practical improvements like adding an EV charger or upgrading their consumer unit. What they want is not just electrical work. They want reassurance that it is being handled properly.

I specialise in domestic electrical work, with a strong focus on consumer unit upgrades and EV charging points, alongside general improvements such as lighting, sockets and outdoor electrics. Every job is priced clearly, carried out with care and fully tested. I work on a per-job basis so you know the cost upfront, without worrying about the clock running.

My role is to make the process straightforward and stress free. I will talk things through in plain language, help you decide what is right for your home and carry out the work in a way that respects your space. You stay in control, informed and confident, while I take care of the technical side and make sure everything is left safe, tidy and working as it should.

Why Choose Me

When you hire an electrician, you want to feel confident that everything will be handled properly. You want clear communication, realistic timeframes and work that is carried out with care, not rushed or cut short.

Ready to talk?

If you have electrical work you would like to discuss, you are welcome to get in touch. I am happy to talk through the job, answer any questions and give you a clear idea of what is involved before you decide how to move forward.

There is no pressure and no obligation. Just a straightforward conversation so you can feel confident about the next step.

Hear From My Happy Customers

I can highly recommend Newbold Electrical. Tony did a few jobs for me from new external lights, new internal spot lights and additional sockets. The standard of the work was excellent and he even cleaned up afterwards. The price was also very competitive.
